Working for us
System Simulation is looking for keen and enthusiastic people to join our perfectly-sized eight-person software team. We are a software house with a world-renowned set of products used by some of the most prestigious museums, image libraries, publishers, and broadcasters in the world. We are a technology-led company celebrating an incredible 50 years in the business. We do interesting and challenging work and we would like you to join us and help keep our technology beautiful and our customers happy.

Our current vacancies are listed below:
Collections Consultant
£30k-£45k depending on experience
Clerkenwell, London, and/or home working

System Simulation has over 40 years of innovative software development in the heritage sector. We provide archive, library and museum cataloguing and collections management systems based on our CollectionsIndex+ family of products. Our customers range from small private and specialist museums to national organisations, multi-national corporations and world museums such as The British Museum and the V&A.

We now have a vacancy for a Collections Consultant. Our offices are in the lovely Clerkenwell area of London. We embrace remote working and you will be able to choose day to day whether you work in the office or at home, but it would be an advantage if you're able to get to the office for some meetings. The role also involves occasional travel to client sites and attendance at exhibitions and events.

This is a varied, hands-on role that combines consultancy, account management and sales and marketing. It would suit someone who has experience working in or with museums, archives, libraries or private collections and knowledge of one or more collections management software systems. A university-level museum qualification would be a plus. You'll need to be well-organised with an eye for detail, calm under pressure and confident and personable in dealing with clients. This isn't a software development role, but you will need to be able to communicate effectively with our software engineering team.

Consultancy:
  • be the voice of the user in our product roadmapping and prototyping sessions
  • migrate new clients' data to CollectionsIndex+
  • undertake testing and documentation of new software
  • maintaining the CollectionsIndex+ user documentation
  • deliver CollectionsIndex+ training sessions for new and existing clients

Assisting with Account Management:
  • ensure the happiness of our key client accounts
  • undertake project management of system implementations and other client-commissioned development jobs
  • have responsibility for testing work and checking against contracted requirements before release to client

Sales and Marketing:
  • demonstrate CollectionsIndex+ to prospective customers
  • develop sales and marketing materials
  • represent System Simulation at industry conferences and exhibitions
  • interact proactively with the Index+ User Group and the broader museums community

System Simulation has always welcomed employees from diverse backgrounds and with wide interests. We strive to be a good, equal opportunities employer.
