COMPASS
We supplied the integrated software architecture for the British Museum COMPASS project in a collaboration with the museum's team lasting 10 years. Launched in 2000 and running until 2007, COMPASS offered a content development system driving a variety of web and kiosk interfaces for searching and exploring the Museum's collections. By linking and connecting objects with tours and articles thematically, COMPASS provided a rich knowledgebase and deeper understanding of the artefacts in the context of world cultures.
Connect - Learning and Teaching Portal - Higher Education Academy
System Simulation developed the portal jointly with JISC and the Learning and Teaching Support Network (LTSN), a major network of 24 subject centres based in HE institutions throughout the UK and now forming part of the Higher Education Academy.
Corinium Museum
The Corinium Museum reopened in 2005 after a stunning makeover. We provided our easy to use ContentIndex+ with an Image Library Module to enable the museum to create the content for interactive kiosks. Visitors can explore 3,000 archaeological records and objects, or get to know old Cirencester through hundreds of photographs of the town.
Court Barn
Court Barn is a new small museum in the Cotswolds which has been able to present its collection of objects electronically on kiosks and a website via System Simulation's ContentIndex+ and MuseumIndex+ products.
Croydon Clocktower Museum
Through collaboration with the staff at the museum, we delivered creative design and robust implementation for the new interpretation kiosks and the new website. Each of the 30 kiosks spread throughout the gallery tells the unique story of around 10 objects in the immediate vicinity, using pictures, oral histories and video.

Culture24's website (formerly the 24 Hour Museum) is an award-winning cultural guide promoting museums, galleries, libraries and archives across the UK. eLIB projects - electronic libraries for higher education
SSL has provided Index+ server technology, Web Gateways and Z39.50 Gateways for electronic library projects under the university sector JISC funded programme eLIB. These projects provide WEB access to extensive libraries of images, information sources and relevant tools for use in teaching and research in higher education.
