Food Science Central published by IFIS Publishing is a gateway to free and subscription-based information relating to the world of food science, food technology and food-related human nutrition. We provided the design for FoodScienceCentral and developed a customised web management system and an e-commerce enabled website.

Food Science Central is aimed at an international audience and provides news and bulletins from the sector, email custom alerts and public and specialist access to over 30 years worth of information in the form of articles, FSTA abstracts and papers. Access to some of the services is limited to registered users but registration is free. The site is updated regularly.

Editorial content is organised into two main sections - FoodInfo Online and Information Store. The majority of the contents of both sections is provided free. Logged-in registrants can access everything; Guests see the latest additions in each category.

FoodInfo Online is a free online magazine with a variety of content aimed at all who wish to stay abreast of developments in food science. The main sections are: regular articles on what's happening in the food industry, webwatch, key papers, new patents, and over 3000 web links.

The Information Store brings together a range of resources from IFIS and from other high quality information providers. The main sections are: a new electronic review journal the FST Bulletin, reports on scientific status and summaries, official international newsletter, book reviews and updates on legislation

IFIS recently updated their Food Science Central home page, providing a rapid, news orientated gateway to the content. Tools provided by System Simulation make the layout and content easily and rapidly changed.
