We develop Web products and services - Directories, Catalogues and Virtual Bookstores. Our Z39.50 Gateway enables internet access to electronic Library systems. What's special about Index+?Innovative indexing delivers very fast retrieval times using free-text, Boolean and keyword searches with extensive hyperlinks. This is essential both for publishing repository systems and for published products and information services, and ensures fluent searching and browsing through large databases. Index+ is scalable. Repositories, archives and editorial applications can be developed for MS-Windows, NT or Unix, in stand-alone or server/client systems including mixed networks to suit requirements. CD-ROM and CD-ROM/Web hybrid products can be developed for MS-Windows 95, 98 or NT. The Index+ Web Gateway allows Web access via any standard browser. The Index+ Z39.50 Gateway allows access to electronic Library systems. Index+ support tools enable the creation of the required interaction design which can be as sophisticated or as simple as required. Digital Domesday - The Domesday Book on CDROM - Alecto Historical EditionsUsing Index+ software and tools, SSL has designed and developed a series of CD-ROMs with content from the 1089 Domesday Book held in the National Archives. These include the Digital Domesday Scholar's Edition (Gold Edition), Digital Domesday General Edition (Silver Edition), Digital Domesday Translation Edition (Bronze Edition) and a series of County Editions. All editions include full search and browse of the Alecto modern translation, indexes to people and places, images of all folios (not the Bronze Edition) and articles, maps and glossary. Pads, Patients’ Fact sheets, Formularies and Dosage calculators. |

TICTAC CDROM and TICTACNET - TICTAC Communications LtdSSL has provided the Index+ image - and database to TICTAC
Communications at the Toxicology Unit of St George’s Hospital
Medical School. CD-ROM, web and internet applications of TICTAC
are designed and developed by SSL. TICTAC is published in two
CD-ROM quarterly editions, with associated website updates,
for ‘Healthcare’ and for ‘Law and Order’. TICTACNET will
shortly be published for delivery on PDAs and mobiles.
TICTAC is a visual Drug Identification database covering medicines,
illicit drugs, veterinary products, vitamin and food supplements,
herbal remedies and products that might be mistaken for drugs such
as confectionery. TICTAC is used by Pharmacists, Doctors, Police,
Customs, Prisons, and Pharmaceutical companies and criminal
intelligence services both in the UK and in the rest of the world.
TICTAC contains detailed information on over 16,000 tablets and
capsules or related products with over 40,000 high quality images
of those products. |

British Pharmacopoeia (CDROM and Web) - The Stationery OfficeSSL has designed and developed the elctronic versions of the
British Pharmacopoeia. The British Pharmacopoeia 2003 contains
nearly 2900 monographs, including those in the European Pharmacopoeia
4th edition, and British Approved Names. This is essential information
for anyone concerned with the quality of medicines, including
pharmaceutical and chemical industries, quality control personnel,
analysts, government regulators, academics and students of pharmacy.
BP is available in a unique package including the printed volumes,
CD-ROM and Web site. The electronic versions enable fast direct
searching for information and provide immediate links to relevant
data. The Web site also offers additional materials such as a Daily
News and links to relevant Web sites. |

FoodScienceCentral - International Food Information Service (IFIS)Food Science Central is a gateway to free and subscription based
information relating to the world of food science, food technology
and food-related human nutrition. SSL has configured the Index+ Content
Management System and e-commerce enabled website for FoodScienceCentral.
It provides news and bulletins from the sector, email custom alerts and
public and specialist access to over 30 years worth of information in
the form of articles, FSTA abstracts and papers. The site is updated
regularly. |

The 24 Hour Museum - the National Virtual Museum
The 24 Hour Museum is an interactive web portal to over 2500 of the UK's museums, galleries and heritage attractions aimed at a wide general audience. System Simulation provides the content management system and web applications. Since its launch in May 1999, the 24 Hour Museum has been regularly updated and enhanced with new features, functionality and new designs. It provides a gazetteer to museums and galleries, News from the sector, interactive Trails, activity-based resources, search facilities and much more. A high-access text-only version is provided for visually impaired visitors. A Welsh language version enables Welsh speakers to search for and access content specific to Wales. The Teachers and the Museum professionals sections provide a variety of information and linked resources. The Curriculum Navigator helps teachers, parents and pupils to find details of resources relevant to topics in the National Curriculum that are available from museums and galleries around the country. The Direct Data Entry facility enables the museums to update and maintain information relating to their institution, its activities and resources. 24 Hour Museum is a linked site in the National Grid for Learning. The new Kids site www.show.me.uk has been launched with interactive activities developed in collaboration with a number of national museums. Museums Association - MA websiteSSL has developed the content management system and website for the Museums Association (MA). The Index+ Content Management System enables MA staff to create, edit, link and manage all content and update the website weekly. The website is a powerful tool furthering the Association’s programme of information delivery to the sector with news, events and conferences, issues of best practice such as ethics, commercial opportunities and career development. It includes current articles from Museum Journal and an archive of articles from Museum Practice. |

L'Institut Pasteur, Paris, France - web database of publicationsL'Institut Pasteur website enables users to find information on its
research activities through a database of publications - the Base de
Publication de l'Institut Pasteur. System Simulation built the database
with sophisticated data aquisition, web submission and a management
system which loads data from a dozen different sources, spots duplicates,
merges fields and allows the administrator to supervise the whole
process.
